Centre of excellence for CONSTRUCTION & ENGINEERING

In our Centre of Excellence for Construction and Engineering, you’ll start to build the skills base required for a fully developed career in the construction and engineering sector. With construction currently booming, there is expected to be a 6.3% increase in jobs by 2025 in Greater Manchester. The demand is high for highly skilled tradesmen, from architects to joiners and plumbers, meaning there are endless career opportunities for you to consider.  

You’ll be learning in a fully simulated working environment with industry standard equipment, which includes 9 specialist construction workshops , inclduing bespoke areas for building services engineering, on site-construction, ground works and design, scaffolding, surveying and planning to name a few. 

Depending on your level of study you will also complete up to 2 weeks' work experience with one or more than one employer, this can either be completed in separate days throughout your course or in a single block.  You’ll also receive dedicated ‘employability’ sessions that will equip you with the skills that you’ll need to thrive in the workplace.
