Centre of excellence for Computing & Digital

By 2025, there is expeted to increase by 7.2% in jobs in the IT sector, compared to there being 31,993 jobs in Greater Manchester in 2021. Careers range from cyber security and system administration to games developers and software writers.  If you love technology, studying in our Centre of Excellence for Computing and Digital will open up an array of exciting possible career opportunities. 

We'll help you develop the skills you’ll need for a rewarding career in the rapidly expanding IT and technology sector. You’ll have the opportunity to improve your coding skills and explore how computer systems and IT solutions can be used for a variety of business applications.

Depending on your level of study you will complete up to 2 weeks' work experience with one or multiple employers, in either a single block or on seperate days during your course. You’ll also receive  ‘employability’ sessions that will equip you with the skills that you’ll need to thrive in the workplace. 

When you complete your journey in our Centre of Excellence for Computing and Digital you will have all the skills you need to get career ready and the qualifications you need to take the next steps towards an amazing career.

Available Courses

While studying at our Centre of Excellence you can obtain qualifications ranging from Entry Level and Level 3 certificates through to Extended Diplomas. If you haven’t already obtained a Grade 4 GCSE in English or maths you’ll also study to achieve this level of qualification, which is a mandatory requirement of your course and essential for many careers. 

In our Centre of Excellence for Computing and Digital you’ll develop an in-depth knowledge of this sector and gain work experience with industry leaders.

Outcomes

Studying in our Centre of Excellence for Computing and Digital will enable you to consider a variety of careers in the computing, IT and digital technology sectors. These range from Network Administrators, where you’ll earn an average of £28,000 a year, to IT Systems Analysts, with an average yearly salary of £34,000
