Industry EXCELLENCE ACADEMY FOR Computing & digital

In our Industry Excellence Academy for Computing & Digital, you’ll develop all the skills you need to advance into a challenging career in Manchester’s rapidly expanding IT and technology sector.  In Greater Manchester alone there is expected to be a 7.2% growth in jobs in the sector by 2025, ranging from cyber security and system administration through to games developers and software writers.

As you progress through our Industry Excellence Academy, you’ll improve your coding skills and explore how IT systems and solutions can be used across a wide variety of industries for different business applications. Seeing how vital these skills will be for all companies, you’ll understand why there are many career opportunities to choose from.

If a career in computing or IT appeals to you but you aren’t yet ready for our Industry Excellence Academy, you’ll be able to start writing the code for an exciting career in this forward-thinking sector in our Centre of Excellence for Computing and Digital. Here you’ll be able to start writing the software required to progress into the Academy under the guidance of our expert team.

Once you’ve completed your journey with us there are a number of different career options open to you in the computing and digital sector, ranging from IT Operations Technicians to IT Business Analysts with an overall average annual salary of £40,104

Available Courses

In our Industry Excellence Academy for Computing & Digital you’ll take a course that has been co-developed, and is co-delivered, by one of our leading industry partners. You’ll complete either a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification and a placement with an industry employer of at least 15 days. 

By the time you complete your time in the Industry Excellence Academy for Computing & Digital you’ll have developed an in-depth knowledge of this sector and gained work experience with industry leaders.

Career
Outcomes

Studying in our Industry Excellence Academy will open the door to a wide variety of careers in IT, digital technology and computing. These range from Network Administrators, where you’ll earn an average of £28,000 a year, to IT Systems Analysts, with an average yearly salary of £34,000.
